Zest Recycle

We are delighted to announce that we have joined the Good Business Charter demonstrating our commitment to responsible business practice.

The Good Business Charter is supported by the Confederation of Business Industry (CBI) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and is an independent not-for-profit organisation that encourages and recognises businesses that demonstrate responsible and ethical business practices.

The good Business Charter measures companies’ behaviour over ten components, committing organisations to the following principles;

  • Real living wage.
  • Fairer hours and contracts.
  • Employee wellbing.
  • Employee representation.
  • Diversity and inclusion.
  • Environmental responsibility.
  • Pay fair tax.
  • Commitment to customers.
  • Ethical sourcing.
  • Prompt payment to suppliers.

The recognition received through our acceptance to the Good Business Charter is another significant step on our path to ensuring that we are providing a sustainable and ethical business for our employees, customers, and supply partners to be a part of.

We have worked hard over recent years and since coming out of the back of the pandemic, to ensure that we provide a foundation for sound business practices that can springboard our employees and wider stakeholders to thrive as part of the Zest family.

This has included committing to permanent home and hybrid working solutions for staff to help with work-life balance, a complete review of our supply chain network, emphasising working with local contractors that meet our sustainability principles, and committing to achieving carbon neutrality for our business. Essentially, we have demonstrated that we are meeting or exceeding the requirements of all ten business components to ensure that we are demonstrating and moving towards the highest standards of responsible business.

Zest Recycle

The Good Practice Charter is a great test and benchmark of ethical and responsible business, and our membership reaffirms and recognises our work so far and the direction in which we want to take the business moving forward. We hope that our membership, and more importantly our progress across the ten components and wider social value activities, provide our customers and partners the confidence and reassurance in a longstanding partnership with Zest Recycle.
