Zest Recycle receives the seal of approval from the Living Wage Foundation
Zest Recycle is delighted to announce that we have become an accredited Living Wage Employer.
The Living Wage Foundation recognises and celebrates the leadership shown by responsible employers who choose to go further and pay a real living wage based on the cost of living, and not just the government minimum.
For a business to become an accredited Living Wage Employer, they must demonstrate that they pay the real Living Wage to all their directly employed staff and that they have a plan in place to pay all contractors that work for the business, such as cleaning and security staff, a real living wage.
The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by over 10,000 UK employers, with new Living Wage rates calculated annually by the Resolution Foundation and overseen by Living Wage Commission.
It is important to us as a responsible business that we champion the cause of the real living wage. We recognise and value the hard work and commitment of our employees, as well as the contributions of all workers across the recycling and waste management industry and we want to set a precedent for fair pay across our industry. Our commitment also comes at a particularly poignant moment with inflation reported to be at its highest level for over forty years, and the pinch being felt across the nation of the cost-of-living crisis. We must put our best foot forward during these uncertain times and demonstrate to our employees, clients, and supply chain partners, that we are taking actions to contribute positively to society.
