Zest Recycle secures Total Waste Contract for Essex County Fire & Rescue Service
Zest Recycle are delighted to announce that we have secured the waste services contract for Essex County Fire & Rescue Service.
The contract which runs for a period of four years with an option to extend, takes in all 48 Essex County Fire & Rescue locations.
The contract is an extension of Zest Recycle’s earlier successful bid and roll out in May 2021 of the recycling and waste management contract for the Seven Force (7F) Strategic Procurement Collaboration Programme.
The Seven Force (7F) Strategic Procurement Collaboration is a joint procurement agreement for policing services across seven counties. Essex County Fire & Rescue Service falls under the jurisdiction of the Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner and it was identified that the service could benefit from the added value that was being delivered by Zest Recycle through the 7F partnership.
The criteria for the initial contract award focused on areas such as quality and compliance, contract mobilisation, carbon reduction and social value. The invitation also outlined a strong emphasis on working with one single all-encompassing provider that was committed to using SME businesses with local expertise to manage waste resources.
As its new partner for waste and recycling services, Zest Recycle will provide total waste management services that meet the partnership’s strict compliance standards, whilst also delivering on the Services all important sustainability and social value goals.
