We are delighted to have been nominated for the Waste Management Initiative in the Retail, Commercial and Public Sector award in the Awards for Excellence 2022 for our work with Whistl UK Ltd.

The awards, hosted by letsrecycle.com, promote businesses, individuals, teams and local authorities in the UK that have gone above and beyond in the recycling and waste management industry.

Our award entry focused on our work with Whistl over the last twelve months to transform the recycling activities across their business fulfilment operations and processes.

The project started with a hugely successful trial solution which was implemented at Whistl’s 155,000 sq ft Rushden Depot, whereby a new system was introduced to capture and segregate recyclable materials from their fulfilment operations ready for onsite baling. The new system was supported by a fully branded promotional campaign and training programme to raise awareness and promote and encourage correct segregation.

The success of the trial has led to the roll-out of the new system across a further four depots over the last year, which has resulted in impressive environmental and waste cost savings for the business.

Zest Recycle

We are delighted that the hard work put into the partnership by our Whistl colleagues and Zest team members has been recognised in this way. The progress made in delivering improved environmental performance across Whistl's operations has been fantastic with tangible benefits delivered for our client in improved operations, increased recycling performance and cost savings. The success of the project is a testament to our unique partnership approach and Whistl's drive and commitment to delivering sustainable fulfilment operations.

Tony McPartland, Managing Director, Zest Recycle

This award is a huge credit to our continued working partnership and the Zest team for their coordination and development of the recycling and waste management programme. Advancing our recycling capabilities and reducing our carbon emissions are of vital importance to the business, so it's great that our hard work and commitment have been recognised by making the award shortlist.
