Start fresh
The final curtain has almost closed on 2023 and what a year it’s been for Zest Recycle. We were busy with new and existing exciting client work, prestigious award wins, and an incredible expansion of the team.
Success is in the numbers. In the past 12 months Zest Recycle achieved:
- 26,110 tonnes of waste handled
- 100% of waste diverted from landfill
- 124,000 collections made in 2023
We said hello to a handful of new team members this year, after a successful growth period. We welcomed both Darryl as Corporate Development Manager and Stewart as Corporate Account Manager to support our future growth. We also had Laura and Mia join us as Customer Service Executives, providing the friendly service we are known for.
Award-winning company
We saw the return of a Green Apple Award for the second year in a row. We were recently awarded the title of Environmental Best Practice alongside our client Macro for the inspirational work we achieved at their head office, 155 Moorgate.
We were also Highly Commended at the Waste2Zero Awards for Best Waste Project Communication & Engagement Award for our work with Blackrose Pubs. Earlier in the year, we were also shortlisted for the Waste Prevention & Waste Management Award at the Footprint Awards with Blackrose Pubs.
Successful launches
We refreshed many client sites with bespoke posters to help their teams with best practice waste segregation.
We also launched our specialist industry equipment to help our clients optimise waste materials and reduce costs whilst also meeting their sustainability goals. Investing in our range of balers and static & portable compactors, can help to reduce labour and transport costs all while increasing recycling rates.
Adding social value everywhere we go
For the second year in a row, we exhibited at Essex Wildlife Trust’s Big Green Business Expo which was a great opportunity to showcase our sustainable ways of working to local businesses. Fast forward a few months and we also exhibited at Essex Chambers Festival of Business event where we provided a range of bins to encourage recycling and better waste disposal.
The team got their welly boots on for a volunteering day alongside BEBA. The morning was full of tree climbing and seed collection at the local Brentwood forestry depo.
The year wouldn’t be complete without winning a golf event. Big thank you to Macro for the invitation in aid of the Mace Foundation.
And none of this would have been possible without our brilliant clients across the hospitality, healthcare and facilities and property management sectors.
Looking ahead to 2024
We’ve already begun developing very exciting plans for next year. We look forward to expanding our team and client base whilst developing our partnerships with retained clients. Keep an eye out for Zest Recycle’s own events next year.
